Kristillisen Tieteen esitelmä Kööpenhaminassa 14.4.2018
Tietoja esitelmöitsijästä Philip Hockley
A member of the branch church in Stockholm wrote to the following about the lecturer Philip Hockley:
When we were at the BA, there was a meeting of people from the Board of Lectureship with some of the lecturers for three days. One of the lecturers stayed a few days afterwards, and we sat with him and several other residents at a table for lunch one of those days. He told us about how he came into CS. He said that he had been i pain for some years, that he had one leg shorter than the other and curvature of the spine, continual pain and life expectancy of 6 months according to medical doctors. He had tried ”everything” to get help, and had some help from having joined a Buddhist group where he learned to reduce the pain through meditation. He used to go out each day, walk a short distance, sit on a bench for some time, and go home again. One day he passed a sign about a lecture that said something about Mary Baker Eddy and something about the 19th century, but didn´t pay much attention to it. He definitely had no intention of going. When he got home, the words ”Mary Baker Eddy” kept coming to thought, even when he went to bed. He could not sleep, and sometime after midnight he said ”OK, I will go!” Then the repetition stopped and he could sleep. The lecture was the next day, and he left early and took himself to his usual bench. He didn´t think he could go any farther — he needed to go through a park to a building on the other side — but since he had promised, he started through the park. There came another bench where he could rest, and another bench, and finally, after 1 1/2 hours, he came to the building where the lecture was being given, and came on time. He was completely healed during the lecture (given by Leslie Gort). He returned home in just 7 minutes. This was 17 years ago. He began to study Christian Science, became a Reader, then a CS nurse, then worked as a prison chaplain, then became a practitioner, and now is a lecturer.

Luettelon hakukenttään (Search) voi kirjoittaa esim. Copenhagen, jolloin tulee näkyviin vain Kööpenhaminassa pidettävä esitelmä.
For the CS lecture in Copenhagen, write the word Copenhagen in the Search field.
